2nd day scheduled to commence at 09:00hrs today
The entire first day of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Cellink 1st division 3-day cricket final was washed out at Bourda yesterday after a heavy morning shower drenched the uncovered strips adjacent to the match pitch.
The umpires called off the day’s play just after lunch and it was hoped that the GCA would have provided more covers since the inadequate covering yesterday did not protect the entire ‘square’ but only the match pitch and bowler’s run-up.
Everest, who beat DCC in the semi-finals and GNIC who got past MSC in the semis, are the teams contesting the final which is scheduled to end tomorrow.
Play today is scheduled to commence at 09:00hrs and the match has now been reduced to 2 days.
Meanwhile, the Demerara zone Neal & Massy National 1st division 40-over game between GCC and Nandy Park which was fixed for Bourda today has been shifted to the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.
