Young Achievers defeated Lima by two wickets in the first semi-final of the New Building Society 40 overs cricket competition played last Saturday at Lima North Essequibo.
The host batted first and were all out for 113 in 22 overs with Faizal Karim leading the way with 28 and Ishwar Ali 24. Deon Amsterdam (4-34) and Kevin Dindyal (4-24) were the chief wicket takers for Young Achievers.
The visitors in reply scored 114-8 in 34 overs. Leonard Brian top scored 33 while Shivraj Budram supported with 20. Abdool Salim bagged 4-24 and Rajiv Manichand 2-28 for Lima. Meanwhile, the second semi-final will be played between Ravens and Walton Hall at a date and venue to be announced shortly. The winner will clash with Young Achievers in the final.
