Last Thursday, the Young Leaders of Agricola continued their community renewal goals by providing 30 garbage bins to members of that community. The drums were donated by SOL Inc. which is located in Agricola.
CEO of SOL, Ken Figaro handed over the drums and congratulated the Young Leaders on their continuous community efforts. The presentation was part of a commitment Mr. Figaro had made when the Young Leaders had engaged the Agricola community on Palm Sunday in a massive clean-up.
Clean-up Environment Day saw 800 residents involved in partnerships with SOL, Namilco, the Guyana Defence Force, The Mayor and City Council, the Agricola Restoration Committee and several Churches.
The Young Leaders of Agricola is a registered NGO. Its President is Milton Smith. The group is one of three youth NGOs spawned by the ACDA Inter-American Development Bank “Access to opportunities to At Risk Afro Descendant Youth”. Similar groups are in Albouystown and Buxton.
