A fine allround performance by Mohamed Hassan guided Parika Salem SC of East Bank Essequibo to an 11 run victory over the visiting Alescon Comets of Trinidad & Tobago in a feature U – 15 limited overs cricket match that was played on Friday at the Parika Salem cricket ground.
Hassan a guest player who plays for Noitgedacht SC of Wakenaam, top scored with an unbeaten 32 and got support from Jimol Marks (12) and Deon Deonauth (12) as Parika Salem made 96 for 9 after the game was reduced to 25 overs due to a late start.
Misea Mohamed took 3-15 off 5 overs while Hassan Kallicharran took 2-27 and Alim Khan 2-11 for the visitors.
Alescon Comets in reply were all out for 85 in 22.5 overs. Alim Khan was the only batsman that offered resistance with 22 n.o. as Quincy Jones captured 4-11 from 5 overs while Guyana U-15 vice captain Ricardo Adams, who plays for Zeelandia SC in Wakenaam took 2-10 and Hassan 2-6 for the winners. Both Hassan and Khan received awards for their effort. The game was sponsored by the Parika Salem SC.
Alescon Comets of Trinidad & Tobago is on a tour to Guyana and Will play Everest CC and Georgetown Cricket Club today and tomorrow respectively in the city. (Zaheer Mohamed)
