Soesdyke Falcons lead points table
Two draws have been the highlight of play so far in the East Bank Football Association / Guyana Football Federation Under-17 league which started with games being played at the Timehri Red ground.
Soesdyke Falcons and Timehri Panthers battled to a 2-2 draw and they were held to a 1-1 score line by Grove Hi Tec.
After taking the lead against Timehri Panthers, Falcons had to come from behind to secure an equal share of the points. John Steele sent Falcons ahead in the 15th minute but 2 minutes later Damien Sam pulled the Panthers level. Kelsey Benson pushed the Panthers ahead with a 23rd minute strike but the score was locked again at 2-2 when Jarel Walcott blasted home for the Falcons.
In their match up against Grove, the Falcons again had to come from behind to salvage a draw.
Grove cantered into the lead 20 minutes into the game through a Mark Jhingoree goal but that advantage was soon cancelled out when Devon Bentick rocked the nets for the Falcons in the 23rd minute.
The tournament will continue on Sunday.
