The Upper Corentyne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCCI) yesterday expressed its concern about the severe damage of the seawall structure at Number 78 Village. There has been continued erosion over the past three years.
Yesterday, Vice Chairman of the UCCCI told Kaieteur News that individuals and other groups including the UCCCI to the Ministry of Public Works and Communications and the local office at Springlands, Corriverton, have lodged complaints.
To date, he said, there has been no response to the complaints.
Residents and businesses are apprehensive that their property will be damaged during high tides resulting in significant economic losses.
