Guyana’s national male basketball coach of the 2007 team that played in Puerto Rico, US-based, Larry Davis and a South Carolina Lady All-Star team will be in Guyana to conduct clinics for players and coaches from August 19-26.
“The South Carolina team will be involved in a camp for local female players and would be taking on the Inter-Guiana Games team in a few preparatory games,” a source close to the national federation told Kaieteur Sport yesterday.
The clinics are aimed at generally developing local basketball with more focus on the female version of the sport. The workshops will certainly add to the boost the sport has in its two new internationally-accredited referees.
