One day after his reputed wife was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital with stab wounds, ‘Khrisna’ without apparent consideration has reportedly ‘gone back to work at sea’.
Initial reports are that ‘Krishna’ on Saturday stabbed his reputed wife, Shalo Gildarie, 19, of Vigilance, East Coast Demerara. Shortly after the incident there were reports that the woman had fallen on her knife sustaining two gaping wounds to the inner side of her thighs.
After being questioned the injured woman then related to some police investigators that it was her partner who inflicted the wounds.
However, yesterday, after the woman was visited by police ranks, she related that she did not wish to pursue the matter. Reports are that the injured woman was visited by a relative of her attacker. Gildarie however related that her partner has since left for sea once he found out that she was admitted to the hospital and she has not heard from him since.
Now given this new development the police are trying to locate ‘Krishna’.
According to the girl’s mother, Sugeet Ramkumar, around noon on Saturday, ‘Krishna’ contacted her to inform that her daughter had fallen on a knife. The woman said that she immediately suspected otherwise, since it is impossible for her to have two separate wounds on both inner thighs if she had fallen on a knife.
The woman said that when she arrived on the scene, her daughter looked pale and almost lifeless. She added that there was blood everywhere and that the man’s relatives were instructing that she ‘clean the mess up’ even as she was hurrying to get her daughter to a hospital.
According to Ramkumar, the wounded girl began frothing at the mouth while she was being transported to the hospital in a taxi.
She said that Krishna’s mother, called ‘Leeda’ and another relative accompanied her to the hospital but disappeared shortly after.
The woman told this newspaper that on an earlier occasion, her daughter’s companion had dealt the now injured woman several lashes about her body with a cutlass even though she was pregnant with his child.
