A 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead on arrival at the Baramita Health Centre on Monday after she was reportedly struck by a huge branch from a tree during a rainstorm in the North West District.
Police say they are investigating the death of Anita Williams of Baramita, North West District, which occurred at about 14:00 hours, at Baramita.
According to the police Williams and her husband were walking along a trail leading out of the backdam area during a period of heavy rainfall and high winds.
It is reported that a branch broke off from a tree and struck her about the body.
She was pulled from the debris and rushed to the health centre some 60 miles away, but died before receiving medical attention.
