The Guyanese cricketers Elton Baker and Travis Blyden will return home this month after completion of a successful maiden season in Trinidad domestic cricket.
The pair played a huge role in their team (Rousillac United) gaining promotion to the National Division for next year’s three-day competition.
Baker, who plays for GNIC and Transport Sports Club’s Blyden were also among the top performers in the 20/20 tournament, which Rousillac United lost in the final. They are now preparing for this Sunday’s 35-over semi-final. The winner of this event will receive TT$10,000 which is worth G$320,000.
In the 20/20 Series, Blyden made 120 runs with a top score of 52 and took 8 wickets, while Baker made 110, with a highest score of 43 runs. He also took 4 wickets.
In the 3-day League matches, Blyden made 417 runs including a highest score of 123 and took 7 wickets. Baker made 473 runs with an unbeaten 124 being his best effort. He also took 25 wickets, as his team finished the tournament with the most points.
In the 35-over Series, Blyden has so far scored 110 runs while Baker has 112.
