The Dorcas Medical Mission, a faith-based, not-for-profit, volunteer organisation from Brooklyn, New York is currently in Guyana offering their services to the public.
The Mission commenced work yesterday and will continue until Thursday.
This is the third visit by the Mission to Guyana under the sponsorship of Outreach Ministries International – Winners’ Cathedral and Roraima Financial Services (CaribCash).
According to the organisation, the aim of this mission is to provide devout and compassionate services through medical outreach assistance to the poor, sick and needy in Demerara and Berbice focusing on the Georgetown and New Amsterdam communities.
The Dorcas team of doctors, nurses and social workers led by Bishop Dr. Sidley Mullings, is providing medical outreach services as well as distribution of food and clothing to the less fortunate in Georgetown and New Amsterdam.
The venues at which the Mission is carrying out its work are: Winners’ Cathedral –26 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown; Love & Faith World Outreach Ministries – Lot 2 Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara; and Faith Revival Tabernacle Wesleyan Church – 22-16 Main and Asylum Streets, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
Medical services begin at 08:00 h daily.
