Two cocaine mules nabbed at CJIA in less than 24 hours

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force Narcotics Branch seem to be stepping up the fight against the drug trade, nabbing two cocaine mules in less than 24 hours.
Reports are that a woman was nabbed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Timehri around noon on Saturday, while a man was nabbed yesterday morning with the same prohibited drug.
This newspaper was told that a female resident of North Ruimveldt was caught with some three pounds of cocaine while attempting to board a flight sometime around 13:00 hours on Saturday.
Booker is said to be in her mid forties.
The flight was destined for St. Maarten.
Reports are that the drug was found in a false compartment of the woman’s suitcase.
She was taken into police custody, as investigations are ongoing.
And early yesterday morning, a 23 year-old man was also nabbed at the CJIA, as he was about to board a flight destined for the United States.
Reports are that several pieces of clothing in the suspect’s suitcase were saturated with cocaine.
Charges are likely.
