A group of youths with big plans has formed themselves into an organisation, which they hope will bring positive changes to the Linden/Soesdyke community of Yarrowkabra.
The youths from the Yarrowkabra Community Policing Youth Group have identified a large plot of land, which they intend to develop for sports activities.

Yesterday, members of the community assisted them in renting a Bobcat to clear and level the land.
They plan to declare the facility open on May 1, when a Fun Day will be held.
Group President is Melissa Mc Curdy, Jermaine Davids is the Vice-President, Felicia Stewart is Group Secretary and David Goodridge is the Treasurer. The group comprises about 30 members.
According to Mc Curdy, the group will also focus on improving the educational skills of youths in Yarrowkabra.
This, they hope, will lead to a decrease in teenage pregnancy, school dropouts and criminal activities among youths.
