Police yesterday arrested a photographer after he allegedly stabbed a man whom he suspected broke into his car and stole several items.
Reports are that Paul Versammy was released on station bail even as John Morrison was still being treated for a stab wound, which he received from Versammy yesterday.
According to reports, Veersammy had earlier in the day parked his car on Breda Street Werk-en-Rust and went to run an errand nearby.
Upon his return Veersammy found that a digital camera, $500,000 in cash and other gadgets, were missing from his car.
It is not clear what led Veersammy to attack Morrison but he (Morrison) was stabbed in the back.
According to an eyewitness who rushed the injured man to the Georgetown Hospital, all she saw was a man running towards Morrison and then he fell to the ground.
“All I see is a man jump out a car run up to John and push something in he back, jump back in the car and drive away,” the eyewitness recalled.
However, Veersammy was subsequently taken into police custody to assist with investigations but was subsequently released.
