Six children have been put up for adoption by the Child Care and Protection Agency in the Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security.
A press statement from the Ministry stated that the Child Care and Protection Agency has been running notices in the daily newspapers to contact the parents of a number of children abandoned at the Red Cross Convalescent Home.
Notices have also been placed for the parents to contact the Agency urgently.
According to the statement, the Ministry is looking to place a number of children that are in institutional care into foster homes, and the children that have been abandoned by their parents will be up for adoption.
Persons desirous of providing any of the children with a loving, caring and nurturing home, where a child could realise his/her highest potential, could contact the Child Care and Protection Agency, Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security, Lot 1 Water and Cornhill Streets, Stabroek, Georgetown.
