TSU ranks nabbed collecting bribe from drug suspect
Four Tactical Service Unit (TSU) ranks, including a Lance Corporal, were under close arrest last night after they were nabbed attempting to collect a sum of money from a drug suspect.
According to reports, the ranks arrested the suspect yesterday in a section of Greater Georgetown with a quantity of marijuana.
Kaieteur News was told that the man offered the policemen a sum of money in exchange for his freedom, but the ranks demanded more cash.
The suspect reportedly left to collect the money but tipped off a police officer about the deal.
When the TSU ranks attempted to collect the cash, they were confronted by some of their colleagues.
They were subsequently taken into custody at CID Headquarters, Eve Leary.
