PM shows two-year-old died of haemorrhage, shock
The autopsy on two-year-old Malaki Osborne, who died on Sunday night after he was impaled when he fell on a wine glass, proved that the toddler died from hemorrhage and shock, the result of a penetrative wound.
A statement from the police said that the post mortem examination was carried out yesterday by Dr. Nehaul Singh.
The release also noted that Osborne died at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) on January 25, subsequent to being admitted there with a wound in his abdomen.
According to the child’s father, Marlon Osborne, he was downstairs washing when the accident occurred. He said that his child may have jumped off some object and landed on a champagne glass which was among an array of glasses that were in a cabinet near to the window.
The father said that he heard a breaking sound from downstairs, and immediately rushed to see if his son was alright.
He arrived to see Malaki lying on the floor motionless, with a gaping wound to his abdomen, through which his intestines were protruding.
Marlon is still in police custody assisting the police with their investigations, which are ongoing.
