Baron Foods Limited is the first company within the food manufacturing and processing industry in the OCES and CARICOM nations to achieve the ISO22000:2005 certification. Baron Foods Limited received this official recognition on September 4, 2008.
The ISO22000:2005 certification, according to a press release, is a new standard, “which offers a global solution in harmonizing requirements towards safety management systems of a food supply chain with its advantage being its synergy with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).”
According to the Managing Director of Baron Foods Limited, Ronald Ramjattan, “There has always been an importance placed on established quality assurance systems in all aspects of our production capabilities, as evidenced by our progression from the HACCP food safety system.”
The release from Baron Foods Limited noted that the company is proud of its achievement and added that while the company may not be a main participant on the international market, it is definitely contributing.
Baron Foods Limited currently manufactures some 135 products and employs approximately 75 people.
The products are available throughout the Caribbean, North America, and Europe.
