Sans Souci, Noitgedacht and Zeelandia recorded third round victories as the Busta 40 overs cricket competition continued in Wakenaam last weekend.
At Sans Souci ground, Sans Souci defeated Sans Souci Jaguars by 77 runs. Sans Souci batted first and made 269 all out in 40 overs.
Vickram Ramnarine top scored with 74, (2×6, 8×4) while Wayne Osborne made 45 (3×6,4×4) and Varounie Sasepaul 31 (2×6, 2×4).
Gladwin Henry, Safraz Mohamed and Olwin Paton grabbed two wickets each for the Jaguars who responded with 177 all out in 29 overs.
Charles Benjamin made 31 while Henry contributed 21 and Tulsieram Ramadeen 20. Oyono Sampson was Sans Souci’s leading wicket taker with 4 – 25 while Keval Persaud took 2 – 16 and Nokta Moses 2 – 19.
At Noitgedacht, the host defeated Maria’s Pleasure by 4 wickets. Maria’s Pleasure took first turn at the crease and scored 190 – 9 off their allotted 35 overs after the game was reduced by 5 overs due to overnight rain.
Susie Bissoon made 60 and Emmanuel Lewis 35 while Dillon Retemiah captured 5 – 35 and Neil Ramalho 2 – 12.
In reply the host won the contest in the 33rd over ending on 191 – 6. Fourteen year old allrounder Rahaman Khan top scored with 74 n.o and Randolph Harry 34, Lewis returned with the ball to captured 2 – 34 for the losers.
And at Good Success, Zeelandia got the better of the home team by 4 wickets. Good Success batted first and were all out for 113 in 27 overs.
Shamsudeen Mohamed made 24 and Imran Khan 22 while Navishaul Poor bagged 4 – 20 and Saga Jadnkul 2 – 24. In reply Zeelandia made 116 for 5 in 25 overs. Pooran top scored. (Zaheer Mohamed)
