Local riders will be in action come Sunday in the bauxite Mining Town of Linden when the Roraima Bikers Club brings off the annual Troy Humphrey Memorial cycling meet at Amelia’s Ward.
Ten races are carded for the day and will involve all categories of riders from BMX right up to veterans.
Transportation for all riders and their cycles will leave Humphrey’s Bakery and Farm Products, Ketley Street, Charlestown at 08:00hrs on Sunday for Linden.
Races carded for Sunday are BMX boys 7-0, 9-12, 12-14, open, girls 7-12, upright, veterans over 35 & over 45, juniors/juveniles and seniors categories 1-4.
Alonzo Greaves is the defending senior champion, Geron Williams won last year’s junior/juvenile match up, Kennard Lovell and Compton Persaud are the respective defending champs among the veterans.
Other winners last year were, Mountain Bike (Shawn Frank), BMX 9-12 Girls (Crystal Blackman), BMX 9-12 (Anthony Freeman), BMX 12-14 (Asif Shaw), BMX Open (Johnatan Fagundes), BMX 7-9 (Raymond Perez).
