Rivalry in the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) under 15 & 17 Junior Singles tournaments served off Monday last at the Queens College Badminton Courts. Action was scheduled to continue yesterday at the same venue.
Following are the results of first round matches on day one:
Under-15 Boys Singles:
Kevin Quaicoe defeated Christopher Shewjattan 21-14, 21-10
Christopher Persaud trounced Jared Ramnarayan 21-6, 21-7
Narayan Ramdhani humbled Jordan Isaacs 21-7, 21-4
Under-15 Girls Singles:
Anissa Rodrigues got past Tricia Ramjit 21-5, 21-4
Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Anuradha Odit 21-11, 15-21, 17-21
Tashana Lowe beat Blossom Dublin 21-13, 18-20, 21-19
Under-17 Boys Singles:
Nicholas Ali out played Dennis Nelson 21-5, 21-4
Amandeep squeezed past Youni Abdul 21-19, 20-22, 13-21
Avanidh Odit edged Kevin Quaicoe 21-15, 21-19
Jason-Ray Khalil brushed aside Sean Rodrigues 21-6, 21-5
Christopher Persaud trounced Clive Bender 21-7, 21-2
Avian Rodrigues blasted Christopher Shewjattan 21-4, 21-5
Under-17 Girls Singles:
Colleen Sardhina breezed past Amy Low 21-5, 21-2
Anuradha Odit beat Nathlie Khan 21-17, 21-13
Blossom Dublin defeated Mariah Low: 21-5, 21-9
Priyanna Ramdhani got the better of Tricia Ramjit 22-20, 21-9
