Gizmos and Gadgets have confirmed sponsorship of the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) inter association U-17 50-overs cricket competition which bowls off today at the Everest ground in the City and Wales on the West of Demerara.
Teams from the four Area Associations would compete in a round-robin format from today before the final is played at Enmore on Sunday August 24.
The competition would be officially launched at 9:30 hrs today at the Everest Cricket Club before the match involving host Georgetown and West Demerara begins.
According to a release from the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) the decision to host this tournament was made when the DCB met on August 12 at the Everest Cricket Club.
It is expected to enhance the preparation of the Demerara U-17 team for the under-17 inter-county competition scheduled to start on September 6.
Round One – Thursday, August 21
Georgetown vs East Coast Demerara @ Everest
East Bank Demerara vs West Demerara @ Wales
Round Two – Friday, August 22
Georgetown vs West Demerara @ Everest
East Coast Demerara vs East Bank Demerara @ Enmore
Round Three – Saturday, August 23
Georgetown vs East Bank Demerara @ Diamond
East Coast Demerara vs West Bank Demerara @ Wales
Final – Sunday August 24 @ Enmore
