The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) has revised their fixtures for the resumption of cricket in the city this weekend due to the unavailability of grounds and teams.
The GCA issued the revised fixtures yesterday and has postponed all but one of the matches scheduled for Sunday and most of the division one Neal & Massey games which were set for the weekend.
Two home games were set for the Malteenoes ground but the recent heavy rain has left that Thomas Lands venue waterlogged in several areas and unfit for cricket this weekend, while according to the GCA, Everest cannot field a first division team in addition to their ground being unavailable.
The Police are also ‘in line’ and cannot participate this weekend in addition to their ground also being unavailable while second division team Muslim Youth Organization (MYO) will not be available to play until the end of the Ramadhan period.
DCC and GCC will play the only first division game this weekend when they face-off at DCC on Sunday.
Four games in the Beharry Cup second division 40-overs competition have been fixed for Saturday with Diplomats playing Ace Warriors at GYO, DCC facing MSC at DCC, Third Class taking on GNIC at GNIC and GCC hosting Everest.
