Police Constable Tamesh Rawana yesterday appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court for the illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Rawana appeared before Magistrate Yonnasseh Cave on charges of possession of firearm without licence, and possession of ammunition without licence.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges and was placed on $50,000 bail on each charge. He is slated to return to court on August 21, 2008.
Rawana was found with the firearm and ammunition at a night spot at Better Hope, East Coast Demerara on July 5, last.
